## Model text


### Descriptant

Mova learns from Sol's texts through epochs: Sol-help's accepted texts registered as consultant texts in the dossiers (with provenance), a bounded periodic Mova epoch after every N of them (world built first), a watcher for Crab, the before/after/ablation comparison, and the newest-epoch draft for Sol-help. Source: `tools/whale/src/soltexts.rs`.

### Forward approximant

register: accepted pairs (file text = pair text) -> dossier rows original(0), mova(k), sol(k) with source and created time; ledger row. cycle: waiting = ledger docs without a final epoch-(k+1) status; if |waiting| >= every or force: world build --epoch max(k+1) over them and prepare_next candidates, then epoch::run per epoch group. compare: measure(draft, sol, original) per previous/new/without-Sol draft.

### Invariant

A Sol text is registered at most once per (doc, epoch, hash) and only when its file equals the pair; it is never public; Mova's epoch for it is k + 1 so world(k + 1) holds it; one cycle per run root (cycle.lock); a cycle never builds over an interrupted build (pending.json); the Sol-help configuration is only read.

### Cost

register: one dossier list and up to three dossier add calls per new text. cycle: one world build (parses only new texts) and one Mova epoch per document, at most max_documents + prepare_next documents.

### Composition

Parent: whale-workers. Reads solhelp.rs outputs (pairs, provenance, journal) and learner states; writes through the world tool's CLI (whale-world) and epoch.rs.

### Behavior complement

Not done: no teacher call; no edit of Sol-help's files or configuration; candidates for prepare_next approximate Sol-help's (no minimum-length or library check); no retry of a failed cycle; the comparison metrics are lexical (no judgement of correctness). Evidence status: source-derived model with finite checks.

### Reverse reconstruction

From a ledger row: the dossier ids of the Sol text, the Mova draft Sol was given and the original; from a dossier sol row's source: the Sol-help run root, epoch, attempt and file.

### tests.md


soltexts::tests (2026-11-07): copy spans from Sol found, spans the paper also holds not blamed on Sol (control: a clean text has none); the newest epoch text is the draft, the learner draft the fallback (control: an epoch-1 draft only is no epoch draft); civil dates. Real run 2026-11-07 on scratch copies: ten Sol texts registered, epoch 2 written, two runs compared.
