# mova-topic-corpus-cite

The groupant beside tools/topic-corpus/src/cite.rs in the Mova repository: what the code computes, what it never does, how to go back from its outputs, its invariants, cost and checks.

## Facts

- **kind:** groupant
- **status:** partial source bound model
- **source:** [`tools/topic-corpus/src/cite.rs`](https://github.com/ElamurAI/mova-free/blob/main/tools/topic-corpus/src/cite.rs)
- **source SHA-256:** `7a001d66a6476934…`
- **repository folder:** [`tools/topic-corpus/src/cite.rs.groupant`](https://github.com/ElamurAI/mova-free/tree/main/tools/topic-corpus/src/cite.rs.groupant)
- **repository commit:** `855da7bd4a7b`

> **Implementation material.** A Mova code model describes this code at one source revision: partial models, finite checks and their stated scope. It is not a reviewed general exposition, and its labels are shown as written, never raised.

## Components

| component | label | where |
|---|---|---|
| **approximant** | partial | [Forward approximant](#forward-approximant) |
| **ast** | partial | `syntax.json` |
| **composition** | partial | [Composition](#composition) |
| **cost** | partial | [Cost](#cost) |
| **descriptant** | present | [Descriptant](#descriptant) |
| **invariant** | partial | [Invariant](#invariant) |
| **tests** | finite evidence | `tests.md` |

## Obernants

The typed relations around the forward model: the behaviour complement (what the code never does), the reverse reconstruction (every input compatible with an output) and specialised views.

| id | type | label | where |
|---|---|---|---|
| `behavior_complement` | behavior_complement | partial source derived model | [behavior_complement](#behavior-complement) |
| `reverse_reconstruction` | reverse_reconstruction | partial source derived model | [reverse_reconstruction](#reverse-reconstruction) |

## Model text

### Descriptant

Stage 5: cited descriptions: every written sentence of a Whale round (draft.json) gets the numbers of its sources — the paper for restated sentences and structure, the corpus document for topic-corpus knowledge, the Whale's consultation for terminal knowledge — and a bibliography with stable ids; public mode refuses any sentence based on a non-admissible source. Source: `tools/topic-corpus/src/cite.rs`.

### Forward approximant

items + knowledge provenance -> source ids -> numbering in first-use order -> «text [n, m].» -> paragraphs by part -> ## Bibliography (entry + id).

### Invariant

Every sentence cites at least one source; in public mode only admissible sources (open-licensed library texts, the consultation notes) may be cited.

### Cost

Linear in draft items plus knowledge items.

### Composition

Parent: `topic-corpus`.

### behavior_complement

Does not change the Whale's description; does not judge whether a source supports the sentence. Evidence status: source-derived model with finite checks, not a proof.

### reverse_reconstruction

The citation map per sentence is returned; the draft text is recoverable by removing the markers. No unique inverse is claimed.

### tests.md

cite::tests (numbering and bibliography; a web-based sentence cited internally and refused publicly; a closed neighbour paper refused publicly). Negative control: ignoring refusals turns the test red. Live 2026-11-04: owl-1 round 28 of bryant-2017, 247 sentences, 2 sources.

cargo test --manifest-path tools/topic-corpus/Cargo.toml --offline with WORLD_EN_MODEL=$MOVA_DATA/download/0/0.4/en.bin (18 unit tests; fixture library, fake `papers` binary, fake terminal, local Sea Spider store; two identical runs on 2026-11-04). Without the model the model-dependent tests report a skip.

Negative controls 2026-11-04 (each red, then restored): public admission without the origin condition; assert_public without the Sea Spider/draft/note refusals; seeding without the learner lock; shadow-library filter off; public citing that ignores refusals; cache eviction ignoring the hot pin.

These are finite fixtures and live samples; not a proof.
