# mova-nightingale-judge

The groupant beside tools/nightingale/src/judge.rs in the Mova repository: what the code computes, what it never does, how to go back from its outputs, its invariants, cost and checks.

## Facts

- **kind:** groupant
- **status:** partial source bound model
- **source:** [`tools/nightingale/src/judge.rs`](https://github.com/ElamurAI/mova-free/blob/main/tools/nightingale/src/judge.rs)
- **repository folder:** [`tools/nightingale/src/judge.rs.groupant`](https://github.com/ElamurAI/mova-free/tree/main/tools/nightingale/src/judge.rs.groupant)

> **Implementation material.** A Mova code model describes this code at one source revision: partial models, finite checks and their stated scope. It is not a reviewed general exposition, and its labels are shown as written, never raised.

## Components

| component | label | where |
|---|---|---|
| **Approximant** | partial | [Forward approximant](#forward-approximant) |
| **Ast** | partial | `syntax.json` |
| **Composition** | partial | [Composition](#composition) |
| **Cost** | partial | [Cost](#cost) |
| **Descriptant** | present | [Descriptant](#descriptant) |
| **Invariant** | partial | [Invariant](#invariant) |
| **Tests** | finite evidence | [Tests](#tests) |

## Obernants

The typed relations around the forward model: the behaviour complement (what the code never does), the reverse reconstruction (every input compatible with an output) and specialised views.

| relation | type | label | where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Behavior complement | behavior complement | partial source derived model | [Behavior complement](#behavior-complement) |
| Reverse reconstruction | reverse reconstruction | partial source derived model | [Reverse reconstruction](#reverse-reconstruction) |

## Model text

### Descriptant

Evidence and verdicts of words and phrases against alternatives (shares with the hand list's weights), the dependency method for long phrases, the substitution test and the etymology-free loan signals. Source: `tools/nightingale/src/judge.rs`.

### Forward approximant

evidence: forms -> form or bigram count or chain, variety-shifted; judge: listed loan or alternative -> alternatives, shares, weighted shares, verdict natural/marked/rare/unknown; long phrases with a parser -> weakest dependency pattern; signals: orthography LLR, foreign tag share, English dictionary and frequency, rising trend; candidate at two.

### Invariant

A listed loan keeps its raw count and examples (only its weight changes); unknown below min_evidence; a verdict is a function of the counts and the policy.

### Cost

O(phrase length) lookups per phrase.

### Composition

Parent: nightingale.

### Behavior complement

Never bans a word; never asks anyone. Evidence status: source-derived model with finite checks, not a proof.

### Reverse reconstruction

The judgement JSON carries every count, share and weight it used.

### Tests

#### Checks

tests/model.rs: collocation, listed loan penalised but retrievable; english.rs frames.
These are finite fixtures and measurements; not a proof.
