# mova-serve-mcp

The groupant beside tools/mova-serve/src/mcp.rs in the Mova repository: what the code computes, what it never does, how to go back from its outputs, its invariants, cost and checks.

## Facts

- **kind:** groupant
- **status:** partial source bound model
- **source:** [`tools/mova-serve/src/mcp.rs`](https://github.com/ElamurAI/mova-free/blob/main/tools/mova-serve/src/mcp.rs)
- **repository folder:** [`tools/mova-serve/src/mcp.rs.groupant`](https://github.com/ElamurAI/mova-free/tree/main/tools/mova-serve/src/mcp.rs.groupant)

> **Implementation material.** A Mova code model describes this code at one source revision: partial models, finite checks and their stated scope. It is not a reviewed general exposition, and its labels are shown as written, never raised.

## Components

| component | label | where |
|---|---|---|
| **Approximant** | partial | [Approximant](#approximant) |
| **Ast** | partial | `syntax.json` |
| **Cost** | symbolic source derived | [Cost](#cost) |
| **Descriptant** | present | [Descriptant](#descriptant) |
| **Invariant** | partial | [Invariant](#invariant) |
| **Tests** | executed bounded checks | [Tests](#tests) |

## Obernants

The typed relations around the forward model: the behaviour complement (what the code never does), the reverse reconstruction (every input compatible with an output) and specialised views.

| relation | type | label | where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Behavior complement | behavior complement | partial source derived model | [Behavior complement](#behavior-complement) |
| Reverse reconstruction | reverse reconstruction | partial source derived model | [Reverse reconstruction](#reverse-reconstruction) |
| Model presence | model presence | partial source derived model | [Model presence](#model-presence) |

## Model text

### Descriptant

The MCP server (revisions 2025-03-26, 2025-06-18, 2025-11-25): JSON-RPC 2.0, initialize with version negotiation,
ping, tools/list and tools/call with parse_text (structured content, fields) and explain_sentence; the stdio
transport forwarding to the HTTP endpoint.

### Approximant

`handle(msg) = match method { initialize → caps, tools/list → tools, tools/call → analyse(text) → content,
notifications → none }`.

### Invariant

Notifications and responses get no answer; batches are refused; a refusal of the service is a tool result with
isError, a bad call a JSON-RPC error.

### Cost

One analysis a tool call.

### Behavior complement

No resources, prompts, sampling, server-initiated streams or sessions.

### Reverse reconstruction

The structured content is the API's analysis (narrowed by fields).

### Model presence

Unknown protocol versions are answered with the newest supported one.

### Tests

`mcp::tests`: lifecycle, version negotiation, tool list, parse_text narrowed, explain_sentence, unknown tool and
method, a batch, a refused call; `server::tests::mcp_needs_a_key_and_checks_the_origin`; stdio end to end
(2026-11-06).
