# mova-serve-command

The groupant beside tools/mova-serve/src/main.rs in the Mova repository: what the code computes, what it never does, how to go back from its outputs, its invariants, cost and checks.

## Facts

- **kind:** groupant
- **status:** partial source bound model
- **source:** [`tools/mova-serve/src/main.rs`](https://github.com/ElamurAI/mova-free/blob/main/tools/mova-serve/src/main.rs)
- **repository folder:** [`tools/mova-serve/src/main.rs.groupant`](https://github.com/ElamurAI/mova-free/tree/main/tools/mova-serve/src/main.rs.groupant)

> **Implementation material.** A Mova code model describes this code at one source revision: partial models, finite checks and their stated scope. It is not a reviewed general exposition, and its labels are shown as written, never raised.

## Components

| component | label | where |
|---|---|---|
| **Approximant** | partial | [Approximant](#approximant) |
| **Ast** | partial | `syntax.json` |
| **Cost** | symbolic source derived | [Cost](#cost) |
| **Descriptant** | present | [Descriptant](#descriptant) |
| **Invariant** | partial | [Invariant](#invariant) |
| **Tests** | executed bounded checks | [Tests](#tests) |

## Obernants

The typed relations around the forward model: the behaviour complement (what the code never does), the reverse reconstruction (every input compatible with an output) and specialised views.

| relation | type | label | where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Behavior complement | behavior complement | partial source derived model | [Behavior complement](#behavior-complement) |
| Reverse reconstruction | reverse reconstruction | partial source derived model | [Reverse reconstruction](#reverse-reconstruction) |
| Model presence | model presence | partial source derived model | [Model presence](#model-presence) |

## Model text

### Descriptant

The command line: `serve` (load the models and the speech-act SLM, the shell, the sign-in settings and the plans;
warm the cache; listen), `bench` (latency p50/p95 of 1-, 10- and 100-word texts cold and cached, memory, a
determinism digest of 19 fixed answers), `mcp-stdio` (the MCP stdio transport forwarding to the HTTP endpoint with an
API key).

### Approximant

`serve: args → (Engine::load, Shell, OauthConfig?, Plans) → App::new → warm_up ∥ server::run`; `bench: Engine
→ digest twice → App::respond timings`; `mcp-stdio: stdin lines → POST endpoint → stdout lines`.

### Invariant

`--workers` ≥ 1 in `serve`; sign-in settings with placeholders turn accounts off instead of failing; the bench
asserts every cold call misses and every repeated call hits the cache.

### Cost

Loading en.bin and fr.bin and training the perceptron: ≈7 s and 821 MB resident (2026-11-06).

### Behavior complement

No parsing logic of its own; no files written besides through `App` (the state directory); the bench writes nothing.

### Reverse reconstruction

Stderr names each loaded model file and the silver size; the bench's digest identifies the answers of a model set.

### Model presence

A language is parsed iff a `--model` (or the default `$MOVA_DATA/<xx>/models/<xx>.bin`) exists for it.

### Tests

Two `bench` runs in two processes printed the same digest (8d567ae01408025d, 2026-11-06); the stdio transport was run
end to end against a local server (initialize, tools/list, explain_sentence).
