# mova-parse-command

The groupant beside tools/mova-parse/src/main.rs in the Mova repository: what the code computes, what it never does, how to go back from its outputs, its invariants, cost and checks.

## Facts

- **kind:** groupant
- **status:** partial source bound model
- **source:** [`tools/mova-parse/src/main.rs`](https://github.com/ElamurAI/mova-free/blob/main/tools/mova-parse/src/main.rs)
- **repository folder:** [`tools/mova-parse/src/main.rs.groupant`](https://github.com/ElamurAI/mova-free/tree/main/tools/mova-parse/src/main.rs.groupant)

> **Implementation material.** A Mova code model describes this code at one source revision: partial models, finite checks and their stated scope. It is not a reviewed general exposition, and its labels are shown as written, never raised.

## Components

| component | label | where |
|---|---|---|
| **Approximant** | partial | [Approximant](#approximant) |
| **Ast** | partial | `syntax.json` |
| **Cost** | symbolic source derived | [Cost](#cost) |
| **Descriptant** | present | [Descriptant](#descriptant) |
| **Invariant** | partial | [Invariant](#invariant) |
| **Tests** | executed bounded checks | [Tests](#tests) |

## Obernants

The typed relations around the forward model: the behaviour complement (what the code never does), the reverse reconstruction (every input compatible with an output) and specialised views.

| relation | type | label | where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Behavior complement | behavior complement | partial source derived model | [Behavior complement](#behavior-complement) |
| Reverse reconstruction | reverse reconstruction | partial source derived model | [Reverse reconstruction](#reverse-reconstruction) |
| Model presence | model presence | partial source derived model | [Model presence](#model-presence) |

## Model text

### Descriptant

The command line: `--model xx=PATH`, `--min-span N`, `--doc ID`, input files or stdin; default model paths
`$MOVA_DATA/<xx>/models/<xx>.bin` for every language of the Latin table; a missing model is reported, not fatal.

### Approximant

`args → Dispatcher{models present} → parse(text) → conllu(doc)` on stdout.

### Invariant

A language whose model file is absent is never given another language's model; an explicit `--model` wins over the
default path; unknown language codes are an error before any work.

### Cost

Model loading (≈0.7 s for en.bin, 0.2 s for fr.bin, 2026-11-06) plus the dispatcher.

### Behavior complement

No network, no training, no writing besides stdout/stderr.

### Reverse reconstruction

Stderr lines recover which model file each language used or that it had none.

### Model presence

The set of parsed languages equals the set of table languages with an existing model file.

### Tests

Exercised through the library tests and the manual runs in the README; no CLI unit test.
