# mova-elephant-consult

The groupant beside tools/elephant/src/consult.rs in the Mova repository: what the code computes, what it never does, how to go back from its outputs, its invariants, cost and checks.

## Facts

- **kind:** groupant
- **status:** partial source bound model
- **source:** [`tools/elephant/src/consult.rs`](https://github.com/ElamurAI/mova-free/blob/main/tools/elephant/src/consult.rs)
- **repository folder:** [`tools/elephant/src/consult.rs.groupant`](https://github.com/ElamurAI/mova-free/tree/main/tools/elephant/src/consult.rs.groupant)

> **Implementation material.** A Mova code model describes this code at one source revision: partial models, finite checks and their stated scope. It is not a reviewed general exposition, and its labels are shown as written, never raised.

## Components

| component | label | where |
|---|---|---|
| **Approximant** | partial | [Forward approximant](#forward-approximant) |
| **Ast** | partial | `syntax.json` |
| **Composition** | partial | [Composition](#composition) |
| **Cost** | partial | [Cost](#cost) |
| **Descriptant** | present | [Descriptant](#descriptant) |
| **Invariant** | partial | [Invariant](#invariant) |
| **Tests** | finite evidence | [Tests](#tests) |

## Obernants

The typed relations around the forward model: the behaviour complement (what the code never does), the reverse reconstruction (every input compatible with an output) and specialised views.

| relation | type | label | where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Behavior complement | behavior complement | partial source derived model | [Behavior complement](#behavior-complement) |
| Reverse reconstruction | reverse reconstruction | partial source derived model | [Reverse reconstruction](#reverse-reconstruction) |

## Model text

### Descriptant

The Elephant's consultants: profiles of private terminals (two Sols through the Codex CLI in our deployment) for the purposes edges and approaches, and the journaled question with the teachers' rules. Source: `tools/elephant/src/consult.rs`.

### Forward approximant

submit: validate -> operator_word required -> profile serves the purpose -> the terminal is the profile's own -> bounded plain text -> hash not in the journal -> terminal ready? -> reserved (fsync) -> ask -> answered (answer hash) | limit | failed.

### Invariant

No word, no question; a question hash is asked at most once (uncertain reservations never replayed); a terminal is never shared between profiles; answers are kept as evidence (admitted false).

### Cost

One terminal question per call; pacing 600 s per terminal by default.

### Composition

Parent: elephant. Uses nautilus::teacher (PrivateTerminal, plug, journal, states); called by work.

### Behavior complement

Never writes the graph or the lists; never retries a limit or a failure. Evidence status: source-derived model with finite checks, not a proof.

### Reverse reconstruction

consult.jsonl holds every question's hash, size, profile, outcome and answer hash.

### Tests

#### Checks

consult::tests: no word, asked once, another's terminal, unserved purpose, over the bound, limit not retried, shared terminal refused.
These are finite fixtures and measurements; not a proof.
