# mova-elephant-animal

The groupant beside tools/elephant/src/animal.rs in the Mova repository: what the code computes, what it never does, how to go back from its outputs, its invariants, cost and checks.

## Facts

- **kind:** groupant
- **status:** partial source bound model
- **source:** [`tools/elephant/src/animal.rs`](https://github.com/ElamurAI/mova-free/blob/main/tools/elephant/src/animal.rs)
- **repository folder:** [`tools/elephant/src/animal.rs.groupant`](https://github.com/ElamurAI/mova-free/tree/main/tools/elephant/src/animal.rs.groupant)

> **Implementation material.** A Mova code model describes this code at one source revision: partial models, finite checks and their stated scope. It is not a reviewed general exposition, and its labels are shown as written, never raised.

## Components

| component | label | where |
|---|---|---|
| **Approximant** | partial | [Forward approximant](#forward-approximant) |
| **Ast** | partial | `syntax.json` |
| **Composition** | partial | [Composition](#composition) |
| **Cost** | partial | [Cost](#cost) |
| **Descriptant** | present | [Descriptant](#descriptant) |
| **Invariant** | partial | [Invariant](#invariant) |
| **Tests** | finite evidence | [Tests](#tests) |

## Obernants

The typed relations around the forward model: the behaviour complement (what the code never does), the reverse reconstruction (every input compatible with an output) and specialised views.

| relation | type | label | where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Behavior complement | behavior complement | partial source derived model | [Behavior complement](#behavior-complement) |
| Reverse reconstruction | reverse reconstruction | partial source derived model | [Reverse reconstruction](#reverse-reconstruction) |

## Model text

### Descriptant

The Elephant as one of Mova's animals: its configuration (store, work folder, model, passes, policy, papers), its hands for the deputy (status, proposals observe; tamp, refresh act by a request file) and its English. Source: `tools/elephant/src/animal.rs`.

### Forward approximant

answer: ask::read on the current view; NotMine -> Deputy::run_with with the elephant handler; journal english.jsonl. Hands: status -> Store::status + view -> say_status; proposals -> counts of proposals.jsonl; tamp/refresh -> WORK/requests/<op>.json.

### Invariant

The English service never writes the store; acting operations cannot be declared observing (check_capabilities); the example configurations hold no machine paths.

### Cost

One parse per prompt plus the deputy's; status opens the store and the view.

### Composition

Parent: elephant. Uses ask, store, mova_octopus and nautilus::animal::report.

### Behavior complement

No store writes, no consultant calls, no graph changes from English. Evidence status: source-derived model with finite checks, not a proof.

### Reverse reconstruction

english.jsonl, the deputy's ledger and the request files recover who asked what and what was requested.

### Tests

#### Checks

animal::tests (example configurations, status English); English tests: status, proposals, tamp, refresh planned; negation, delete and a negated question refused; refusals request nothing.
These are finite fixtures and measurements; not a proof.
