## Model text


### Descriptant

The Beaver's configuration (schema mova-beaver-v1): paths of the site sources, the library, the run state and the Sol-help links directory, the Sol budget (Codex gpt-* only), the caps and the Mova docs list. Source: `tools/beaver/src/config.rs`.

### Forward approximant

JSON text -> Config (deny_unknown_fields, defaults) -> validate: schema equal, gpt-* model and known effort when sol, caps >= 1, mova_docs with a phrase and an https URL; paths derived: dev, src, deepdive(id), page(id).

### Invariant

A validated Config never names a non-gpt teacher when sol is true; unknown fields are refused.

### Cost

One file read and parse.

### Composition

Read by run.rs; validate calls mova_teacher::validate_model.

### Behavior complement

Not done: no file existence checks, no network, no default paths for the site binary or run root. Evidence status: source-derived model with finite checks.

### Reverse reconstruction

From a Config the effective JSON (with defaults) is recoverable; the original text (order, omitted defaults) is not.

### tests.md


cargo test --release --offline --manifest-path tools/beaver/Cargo.toml (2026-11-07): 9 unit tests and 4 end-to-end tests on a fake site tree. Negative control 2026-11-07: switching off heading masking turned the masking test red; restored. Pilot 2026-11-07 on five real deep dives: 13 inserts, 5 Sol calls, all pages re-attached.
