# mlab-tests-suite

The groupant beside mlab/tests/suite.rs in the Mova repository: what the code computes, what it never does, how to go back from its outputs, its invariants, cost and checks.

## Facts

- **kind:** groupant
- **status:** partial source bound model
- **source:** [`mlab/tests/suite.rs`](https://github.com/ElamurAI/mova-free/blob/main/mlab/tests/suite.rs)
- **source SHA-256:** `44bf1111361f38af…`
- **repository folder:** [`mlab/tests/suite.rs.groupant`](https://github.com/ElamurAI/mova-free/tree/main/mlab/tests/suite.rs.groupant)
- **repository commit:** `855da7bd4a7b`

> **Implementation material.** A Mova code model describes this code at one source revision: partial models, finite checks and their stated scope. It is not a reviewed general exposition, and its labels are shown as written, never raised.

## Obernants

The typed relations around the forward model: the behaviour complement (what the code never does), the reverse reconstruction (every input compatible with an output) and specialised views.

## Model text

### descriptant

#### mlab-tests-suite

Frozen suite hash/oracle and numerical gate harness, with selected SHA known vector, parse-error and synthetic scenario-boundary tests.

##### Epoch 2026-10-31

Prospective source model preceded test additions. No production semantics changed. Seven legacy files are modeled, with source-scoped fragments for complex files. Retain parse-before-effects versus runtime partial effects, output equality versus correctness, and independent layers routing as distinct observations.

##### Limits

Partial lexical syntax, no macro expansion or semantic resolution. Finite synthetic CPU checks are not a proof. Frozen suites, corpus, teacher, GPU, allocation exhaustion and host IO failure injection were not run. No useful executable percent surrogate for categorical control/effects; unsupported gap, no 1/2/5/10% claim.

### approximant

#### Forward relation

sha256_hex pads bytes with big-endian bit length, expands 64-word schedule, uses wrapping u32 compression and emits lowercase hex. Selected tests compare abc digest and parse failure; synthetic runner checks fresh states/factory count and line boundaries.

##### Domain

Valid source-generated AST/values within memory and integer/index limits; deterministic bounded synthetic observations. Arbitrary public malformed representations are outside safety claims.

##### Executable approximant gap

Exact categorical state/dispatch behavior has no supported percentage-error surrogate here.

### invariant

#### Invariant

This epoch runs no frozen suite, Monte Carlo or real file tests; compile-time include_str constants are compiled but not evaluated as scenarios by selected tests.

##### Cost

SHA O(B) bytes and padded copy, wrapping arithmetic; bit-length conversion/multiplication lacks huge-input bound. Synthetic scenario fixtures tiny; existing numerical/MC suites explicitly unmeasured.

### composition

#### Parent composition

sha-helper provides finite known-vector evidence; synthetic-suite invokes actual suite parser/check/run_fs with memory fixtures. Frozen-suite hash/evaluation and numerical/Monte Carlo paths are not executed.

### models

## Typed models

### behavior_complement

Selected commands exclude execution of frozen-suite and Monte Carlo test functions. Empty output matches no expectations; extra blank line is rejected by synthetic comparator.

### reverse_reconstruction

Known SHA abc vector constrains one input/output pair; digest has set-valued preimages and no recovery algorithm here.

### sha_arithmetic

u32 schedule and compression intentionally wrap modulo2^32; input bit length is u64 multiplication with no oversized-input proof.

### test_selection

Exact names select only sha256_self_check, parse_error_runs_nothing and synthetic suite boundary test.

### fresh_state_oracle

Second scenario exist('x') outputs0 despite first assigning x3; factory invoked twice per mode.

### first_difference_oracle

a expected against a LF LF reports line2 empty versus <end>; missing a reports line1.

### tests

#### Executed checks — 2026-10-31

Selected exact names: sha256_self_check, parse_error_runs_nothing, wave30_synthetic_suite_boundaries. All selected native commands ran twice debug and twice release with matching sorted named outcomes (12 distinct tests, 48 positive executions across subsystem). Five compiled assertion mutants fail with exit101; restored byte-exactly and rerun green. Per-source associations appear in external source-test-map.json.

Controls change expected parse state, VM persisted value, suite factory count, SHA known digest and routing tie winner. These are compiled assertion controls exercising real code, not claims of implementation-mutant completeness. lib.rs is compile/type identity evidence only.

No frozen suites, Monte Carlo or recursion-heavy EDGE runs. No speed claim. Scoped Clippy limits retained externally; lexical syntax generated twice identically.
